About Me

This page tells a little bit about me. My name is Jim Coyle and I am the owner of the-best-website-builder.com website.
I have over 20 years experience in working with computers and IT in both the public and private sector.
Right from my college days in the late 1980's when I was studying for a Computer-aided Engineering Honours Degree, I was always interested in how computer technology could solve real-world problems. Back then I was a manufacturing engineer by profession, having attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Systems from Queen's University in Belfast in 1992. However, we were still in the grip of the last recession and there were no jobs to be had in the manufacturing sector. Needing employment, I got into mainstream IT where I held the post of Computer Services Officer for a local public sector body.
When working there, I first came across Sitesell Inc. and Ken Evoy in late 1997 when reading about the company in a computer magazine. I checked out the company on the Web and was intrigued by what I read. Back then the ecommerce and online business dot com boom had just started to take off.
The realm of website design and web-hosting was still the domain of a select few of the biggest IT companies, graphic designers and those with the technical know how to install a website using Windows NT IIS software, for instance. For the ordinary man or woman, there was no chance of getting into this "closed shop"
The dot com bubble burst because the people supposedly "in the know" sold a Get Rich Quick dream to businesses and those in turn sold the dream to their investors. It was going to be the next big thing but there was no substance underneath the sales-pitch because the required ICT infrastructure as envisaged by the IT companies for general public access had yet to exist. When investors came to understand this, they realised they had been sold a dud and quickly withdrew their investments. Yet, at that time Sitesell took a completely different approach to ebusiness. Driven by Ken Evoy's frustration at not being able to have an online business they way he wanted it (as an offline small business owner at that time) and having to use a plethora of experts in different fields in order to make it all work, he set about building an all-in-one software system that had all the tools required in one place and that worked properly together.
Since 1998, Site Build It has come a long way from what it was way back then. Even though it was a bit rough around the edges it did the job as good as the $10,000 and $20,000 website packages that were around then. Remember PC's were fetching over $2,000 back then and were still regarded as luxury items.
Website ownership was the privilege of the top companies and IT companies built their business models around selling a website that was basically an online brochure. Even today website companies call these "brochure sites". These sites are pretty much pointless as they don't have the capacity to create and keep profitable customers. This is were the difference between Sitesell and other IT companies comes sharply into focus.
Sitesell and Site Build It has been developed with the owner at the centre of the business. Furthermore, the owner is provided with the means to independently develop a profitable online business and not just a brochure website (which is what traditional companies were and are still offering).
With Site Build It you don't need anybody else to do it for you as you will have Sitesell's expertise and the knowledge of your chosen business theme to succeed.
My first attempt at putting up an online business ended in failure. There were a number of reasons for this failure. Firstly, my site concept was about providing information and advice about playing lotteries around the world. It was something that I was really interested in at the time and there was huge interest in the Irish and UK lotteries at that time.
Ultimately, it did not succeed beacuse the basic concept of the site was wrong and it could not be monetised. Also, I thought I knew it all and didn't really bother to read through the online manuals about building an online business that Ken had generously provided.
Fast forward ten years and several IT jobs later.
I now have a share in a private physiotherapy business providing intensive therapy to children and adults with disabilities. It is called the First Step Therapy Centre in Newry, Northern Ireland. I manage the day-to-day affairs of the business, which includes marketing and website development. I had always retained my knowledge of Sitesell and remained an affiliate from the early days, so the purchase of Site Build It for our business was a "no brainer".
I purchased the subscription in January 2008 and set to work reading the updated manuals line by line. This time I did not assume any knowledge and did not skip any of the tutorials. These manuals have certainly changed since the days of my first attempt. Now there are online tutorials which are voice and video-based, taking the user step-by-step through the process.
The big plus now is the online forums where experiences and help can be shared in overcoming your online business development problems. This facilty has proved priceless for all 40,000 SBI owners, including me.
I firmly believe that Site Build It is the best website builder software system because of the way it has been built. It has been built from the "ground up" in an integrated, complete way, so that you don't have to look for different software tools and make them work together. You can create a profitable website with absolutely no programming skills using the templates and tools provided. If you follow the guide correctly, you too will have a successful website.
The First Step Therapy Centre website is currently performing well. Remember there are over 150 million websites already online - so a ranking of less than 1,500,000 indicates a top 1% ranking.
